Trouble going to bed again
« on: May 11, 2007, 01:56:10 am »
After months of great sleeping with an occasional nw Holden doesn'twant to go to sleep at night. The last time this happend he was going through sa at 9 mo. He is 16 mo. today.  He is also teething. I've had to stay in the room for 2 nights now. Takes an 1 1/2 hrs. to finally fall asleep. I tried to wi/wo but that made him cry harder. Should I handle this the same way I did before? Which was moving closer to the door after finally calming him in his crib. Thanks in advance.

We usually wake anywhere from 6:30- 7:30. If it's earlier we lay in my bed and watch tv.
breakfast- 7:30-8
snack- 10
lunch 11:30-12
nap 12:30- anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hrs.
snack-3
dinner-5-5:30
bath- 6
wind down- bottle and stories sometimes just cuddles
7:30-8 bed

Sometimes if he wakes too early bed time is adjusted earlier. I read his cues when he's tired. His wake time is about 5-5.5hrs.

Thanks,
Lisa

His schedule looks good. It might be related to teething or SA. Have you given him anything for teething? If wi/wo is too much for him & GW is working well for you, that is, he is not playing but actually going to sleep, then I would continue doing that....

It could also be the length of the nap. Try not to let him sleep more than 2hrs cause sometimes they make up for lost sleep at night by taking a longer nap.
