Easy Reference for Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, Snack Foods
« on: May 16, 2007, 19:36:20 pm »
I am wondering if this will work.  I was hoping we could all add on our ideas for the meal times above.  I am having a hard time with food these days and feel stuck.  Given all our different backgrounds and cultures I am looking forward to some ideas apart from "meat and potatoes".

If possible ppl can copy and paste the section below into their new post, adding their own ideas, and at the end we will have an easy reference.  Here goes.

Breakfast

French toast, eggs w/cheese

Lunch

Soup w/crackers, grilled cheese, cottage cheese,

Supper

Snack

Fruit snacks (real fruit, no preservs), Goldfish crackers, raisens

See, I need help.

Thank you for your suggestions.  Sorry to be controlling but what I was thinking was at the end of this thread there would be just one big post with everyones ideas added.  You wouldn't have to read through everyone's posts because they would copy and paste the previous one into theirs and go from there.  KWIM?

I am thankful for the "picky eater thread" and "what did your toddler eat today" but they are alot of pages long.  Having the time to take notes and read through them all will take time as well as overwhelming.

Does this make sense?

K.  I get it.  No good.

Stacy don't do that for me.  I will figure it out on my own as well as take the ideas already posted here.

I will also check out the 5 meals thread.

Charlotte My DD has pretty much the same for breakfast and lunch everyday.
Breakfast is either big bowl of weetbix, oats mixed with fruit and milk and a slice of toast.
Lunch: Roll/Sandwich with different fillings or hotdogs on the weekend as DH loves these as does DD and a tub of yoghurt.
Snacks: Museli bar,saltanas,dried fruit,biscuit,jelly,custard.
Dinner: She always has what we have for dinner we eat together as a family i find she eats much better this way. Will Charlie not eat what you guys have for dinner?

Hi Natasha.  Nope, never.  She just doesn't eat MEALS.  If I make casserole, chili, chicken and veggie, tuna cakes, anything she doesn't eat it.  She does go in her chair and eat with us but not what I cook.  Very frustrating.

Until recently she would eat some veggies, cottage cheese, tofu dessert and fruit.  Maybe maybe some bread with either butter, jam, or cheese on it but not often.  Now she just doesn't eat anything other than the odd veggie and fruit.  Fruit is always good.

No more yogurt, no more cheese, no more fruit bars, no cereal, no toast, she won't touch chicken, beef, pork, tuna or salmon.  Occassionally she will eat pasta.  I have been thinking I would try some lentils but have never ever made anything with lentils.

I don't know how she continues to grow.  I am also tired of trying to get her to eat.  During meals I am contantly in the fridge or pantry finding things she might eat.  Never mind the food groups just eat for heaven's sake.

I am a short order cook for sure.  That is great Catherine will eat the same thing.  I would love it.  It would be much easier to shop for groceries.   ;)

Great advice ppl.  THank you.  I am looking forward to not stressing about it and honouring her decision not to eat.  It stressed me out so if she's not hungry she's not hungry.

It was getting worse and I didn't like dh bribing her but he was just to get the results I wanted.  Really he'd rather just let her down from her chair to play if she wants.

So today is a new day.  I will try to relax.

p.s.  still wish this "idea" of mine worked.  I like reading what others make for meals out there.  One day when I've gotten a good sleep I will go through the posts.  ;D
