Oh, and if she goes to bed even 20 minutes later, she wakes up to feed earlier and then earlier for the day.
this was always true for us at that age too- if she was asleep by 6.55pm, she would sleep till 6.30am no problem. Asleep after 7pm, and she would wake before 6am without fail  :P This seems very common around here- I guess they develop their own "cut off" points, iykwim?
Don't get stressed about her sleep, if she is happy and eats well and sleeps soundly when she is asleep then she's doing just fine (and so is mummy  ;))

For us it's 7:40. If she falls asleep after 7:40, she's up at 6 or so. If before that, she sleeps until 6:30-6:45.
She's happy most of the time, and sleeps soundly at night, most nights. Naps are hit and miss. I'm just bothered by the sleep cues a bit - she may yawn or rub her eyes occasionally, and yet isn't quite ready for sleep.

She's working on a lot of stuff right now, trying to stand, babbling like crazy, chasing the dog.... I get the feeling she doesn't want to "miss out" on something.
Again, thanks for the support. I'm so glad to hear about your experiences.

Oh oh, I think something is up with my LO....she might be teething, I've noticed two bumps on her gums.
She's been waking earlier than usual to feed at night, and then waking about an hour after the feed for the day. The other day she was up at 6:10 and today before 6!!! Could this be due to the naps? They were short yesterday, but this morning was OK - 1 hour 15 min. I just can't seem to figure it out.

Can teething cause babies to wake earlier? From night sleep and from naps?

teething always causes Sophie to wake earlier- from the night and naps. I think it's because towards the end of her sleep cycle she comes into a much lighter sleep leading up to her waking- once in this lighter the sleep the pain disturbs her (but not while she's in the deeper sleep iykwim) I think this is common- I remember one poster ages ago saying she could make as much noise as she liked in the house during the first half of lo's nap, but had to be quiet as a mouse for the last 45mins or she would wake.
Teething's fun- Not. Then to add to the problem, teething makes Sophie more tired than usual  ::) SO that along with the early wake ups means our days are really fun!

Wow, your girl sounds so similar to mine! That makes complete sense - with the end of the sleep cycle being lighter sleep, the discomfort must disturb them.

I am sure now that she is teething. I wasn't 100% sure earlier because these are her first teeth. The little bumps are getting more pronounced though and she's drooling, oh, and trying to bite my face all the time...what's with that?? Well, I guess we'll have to work through this. At least she had half-decent naps today, phew. Yesterday was dreadful. She was tired, but wouldn't sleep!!! Dinner time was fun.
