Toddler drank gone off juice from a cup in the garden

Hi there

Was not sure where to post this!? My 2 year old son was playing in the garden while I was browsing this site (my comp faces straight onto the garden) when I heard him say "yummy nice juice".  I thought this was odd as I had not gave him some juice.  I looked out and he was sipping juice from a cup I have not seen for WEEKS, which he must have left in the garden.  I ran out but it was too late he had drank some.  I smelt it and it smelt horrid (how was it yummy?!), so now am worried he will get poorly.  Its all my fault, I should have spotted him picking it up, but I was checking my emails and could hear him pottering as had windows open

I immediately gave him a whole cup of milk (dunno why but it seemed the right thing to do at the time  )

Am I worrying unneccessarily (spelling gone wrong!)?

It happened here too, I was mortified!

Alex was fine though I gave her plenty of water and I hope that it flushed it out. 
I would monitor him and ensure that he has plenty to drink.  If in doubt you could ring the NHS helpline.

Thanks for your reply, I'll watch him very closely.  Will give him some more juice (wont touch water) and hope it flushes out

I think milk was probably a good choice as it lines the stomach quite well and should of helped stop some of the nasties getting through.  I would of thought at worst he would be sick or diarhea.  I'm pretty sure if it was that bad he would of been sick shortly after drinking it.

Talking of things being drunk in the garden my DD ate something I wasn't to sure of, a californian lilac blossom.  I was sitting on seat and looked over and she was chewing, I said what are you eating? when I looked I could see what it was but she will not let me get things out of her mouth so down it went

Hi New Mum, its nice to know I am not the only one! He has been absolutely fine bless him, and there was me worrying and wittling! Was convinced he would get soooo sick! Think his immune system is so good, he has only had been ill twice (touch wood) since he has been born.  His little sis is a different story, completely the opposite!

Lol, yeah probably right, he is very risilient, once fell straight off a table backwards straight onto his back and head and did not even have a bump!
