What shall I reintroduce first???
« on: May 31, 2007, 07:55:52 am »
My 8 month old DD is MSPI but recently I ate something with hidden milk and ate a small bit of chocolate and she hasn't reacted at all. Just a few months ago if I ate something that said can contain spores of milk she would react with stomach ache and mucousy stools etc. I am dying to be able to have a bit of cheese and yoghurt so I think I am ready to try but don't know how I should go about it. She is only breastfed 3/4 times a day now. Also if she tolerates milk through my milk is it likely she can tolerate them through solids? I constantly worry about her calcium intake so would be so happy if she could also eat some dairy foods. Any advice will be greatly appreciated  :)

Some LOs can tolerate dairy through BM but not directly for some time so I'd go very slowly. Maybe start with having a small piece of hard cheese yourself and see how she reacts and build very slowly from there. I wouldn't try dairy directly with her until she's 11-12 months TBH.
