Is she bf to sleep?
Could she be having a little separation anxiety?
Is she teething?
Falling asleep fast and waking up shortly after tends to be a sign of overtiredness.  Are her naps pretty consistantly 90 min?

So, she goes down fine for naps and only has problems at night?
Was there anything going on before this started?  Sickness? Milestones? Has anything changed about the cot?  Anything, even something little that you wouldn't think would be a problem?
What usually settles her back to sleep?

When she is "tantrum screaming," does she sound in pain, arch her back, or does she only cry when you go to leave?
Sorry about all the questions, I am just trying to get a clear picture of what is going on.

she wont go in the cot for naps either ( she did last week)
she has just come out of a hip harness two weeks ago so is allowed to stand forthe first time maybe standing is causing her to resist the cot?
she dosnt sound in pain she arches her back and sounds as if she is really mad at me. :( as soon as she goes in the cot
during the day im letting her fall asleep in the stroller or on me.. at night it seems  the only way to settle her is pure exhaustion even b/f sends her to sleep but she wakes the minute i lower her into the cot. Last night it took an hour and a half of gentle talking and stroking to calm her and get her off to sleep if i pick her up she just struggles.
Nothing has changed in her cot and she has slept in it for the last 5 months.
Thank you for trying to help me im running out of ideas :(

Well, it sounds like, at this point, that she doesn't know or has forgotten to sleep independantly.  So she may think she needs to be bf to sleep or pushed in the stoller to go to sleep..

I know nothing about the hip harness.  Did your doctor prepare or warn you of any side effects of having it off?  Milestones, like standing can affect sleep.

It sounds as if you are going to have to do pu/pd.  Have you tried that?

Hi .
We have gone back to basics (as suggested pu/pd) I reread the book and have started again with the sleep ..she is creating going into the cot  if she does the back arch im picking her up calming her putting her down ..she is getting better again slowely ..we are down from 45 min saturday to about 10-15 min this mornings nap... thank you sometimes you just need someone to remind you the obvious. The doctor didnt think the harness would make a diffrence but reading the book again I thought hang on one minute she cant move at night hardely next minute she can kick her legs move around the cot ..it would make a big diffrence to us! It must for babies to.
Anyway THANK YOU AGAIN .
