Great thread Sunshine's Mum. Great lists Katie and Erin! Here's my 2 cents/pence:
The mother of all cure all's-Sudocream. Not just for nappy rash! Great for bites, minor abbrassions, scrapes, irritations, sun burn etc.. I have used it as a sun block on my DS's tips of his ears as it contains such a high level of zinc. I have used it on my bikini line after shaving and it is great for that too! I used it after birth on my bum to help shrink my skin tags and piles!
I am an ARNICA cream advocate. I pull this stuff out at all playgroups and so many Mum's do not know about it and are amazed as they watch their child's giant goose egg go down. They run to the store to buy some after!
Soft gel ice packs in the freezer are handy too. If camping or travelling, you can buy the instant freeze packs, that you "smash" and they release tiny chemical beads that produce freezing compounds.
Also a good time to remind all that it only takes a half day to learn CPR/First Aid. Visit your local Red Cross or St.John's Ambulance websites for more info. Local colleges and government programmes also offer courses.
Thanks!
