17 mo needs weaning from breast prop
« on: June 20, 2007, 18:53:54 pm »
I have a 17 month old who I'm breastfeeding in the morning and at 7pm.  I have just found out that I'm pregnant and I want to stop breastfeeding.  My little boy has been used to falling asleep on the breast at the evening feed since he was a little baby.  I now have a real mission of getting him off breastfeeding and having him learn to go to sleep on own.  He is not a angel or laid back baby and I'm just not sure what plan to use to get him to sleep without the breast.  Is he too old for PU PD?  Should I use the WI WO technique.  Any advice at all would be so gratefully received.

Hi emsie, welcome to BW! :)  I split your post from the thread that you originally posted on so that you would get the biggest audience.

These are links to some other threads that should help you. IMO he is too old for PU/PD but I don't think WI/WO is the best plan necessarily. Only you can decide, but I'm inclined to think GW would be best.

Can you post your daily routine for us? That would help too. Are you familiar with BW?
