Changing?
« on: June 23, 2007, 20:30:33 pm »
I'm not sure if I've posted this in the right place but I've gotta quick question about nappy changing.
My DD is 7 and a half months old and over the past few days I've been having real problems changing her. Everytime I lay her down, she rolls herself over and crawls off. When I bring her back, she starts to cry (and I mean get really upset). I've tried distracting her with toys, games, being really quick but nothing works. I know this does kinda come with the terrority as they get older but has anyone got any suggestions to make this a little bit easier???

Peek-a-boo works for us sometimes.  I'll toss something like a washcloth over her face and while she pulls it off I'll change her really quickly....and say "peek-a-boo" with a big smile when she does get it off her face -- she laughs pretty hard.  :)

Lay her across your lap, put a cushion to support her head.  it gets easier with experience, but they honestly can't move and it gets done so much quicker.  (use a towel if you suspect more than a wee!)
I am a childminder and find that it's the only way that I can do it.
