Cathy, that sounds great!  And I really like the idea of adopting things you can do when you are out and about too  :)

She went to sleep at Mums & Toddlers!!!!!!!  Only for about 45 minutes but fantastic all the same.

Don't suppose it'll all be easy from here on, but at least I know that it is possible. Which is very exciting!

Thanks for all the encouragement.

I too, am a prisoner of my ds' naps. I admit it! He has only been BW trained to sleep in his crib for naps for almost 2 months now...and he is sleeping well at night too now, so I really don't want to mess it up! I plan things around his 2 naps per day. It does make it almost impossible to go anywhere for too long really since he usually takes him a.m. nap from around 9-10:30, then his p.m nap from around 1 or 1:30 until 2:30 or 3, then goes to bed at 6:30. We basically have 3 hours or 3.5 of A time at the most during each block, but I realize this is better than nothing!  I am not really complaining but just glad there are others like me. I would like to be less of a slave to the schedule and plan to start going to longer activities here and there even if they aren't over by nap time, but I wanted him to get used to a good routine before I start confusing him!  :)  Also I am thinking he will probably drop to one nap here sooner or later, which will free us up. I thought he was going that way already, but at a little less than 10 mo. I don't think he's there yet.
