Growth spurt shorten awake time?
« on: June 27, 2007, 19:06:43 pm »
Hi everyone,

My 7 month old was making it at least 2.5 hours to nap time, but all of a sudden can't! (I found him asleep in his exersaucer yesterday morning after changing his older brother). He is a pretty early riser, but also goes to bed early because of the toddler's bedtime. In the past four days I have increased his solids and he slept 11 hours two nights and only woke once the other two nights). His "perfect" schedule looks like this:

6:30 Wake
7 am - nurse
7:30am - solids
9am - nap (lately is very tired by 8am)
10:30am wake
11am - nurse
11:30  - solids
1pm - nap (not the best nap lately, often have to get him back down after 45min) - lately would nap by 12 noon!
3pm- nurse
sometimes a cap nap for about 30 min at 4-4:30pm
5pm- big supper!
6:30pm-bath and in bed by 7pm (could go to bed around 6pm by the look of him)

either sleeps through or nurses once a night. Lately he has been getting up around 5am and sometimes I have to nurse him back to sleep.

So, am I doing this myself ( maybe it is staring me in the face) or is he just eating a sleeping alot because of a growth spurt? The kid is HUGE and eats alot in the past few days. I just don't want to get in the cycle of earlier to bed earlier to rise . . . He was waking his older brother up at 6:30am.

Thanks in advance!

Its normal that during some stages babies can handle different A times.
However I would not really put him down for first nap too early as it may make him woke earlier, as he could take too early nap as extension of night sleep.
