swaddling
« on: July 03, 2007, 17:55:52 pm »
dd is only 3 weeks and moves around so much that she always gets out of her swaddle.  It freaks me out a bit because of the whole SIDS thing, and the fact that she doesn't sleep as well not being swaddled.

Does anyone have a tricks or products they can recommend?  I've tried the "swaddle-me" blanket, and it doesn't get tight enough around her little body - she just pops her arms out the top.  I've also tried the "halo" wearable blanket with the swaddle feature - I originally thought this was the perfect solution, but she was able to wiggle her arms out and under the swaddle part and a big bunch of fabric ended up scrunched over her face :o.  At the worst, I can safety pin this blanket down to help, but it's still annoying.

right now, she's taking a nap in one of those footy pajamas, but I tucked her legs and arms inside of it and tied the arms across her chest and tied the legs up as well!  Not the best swaddle, and probably not recommended by the manufacturer ;)  But at least she's sleeping!

Any recommendations???

TIA,
Maggie

Miracle Blankets are AWESOME!!! I buy them for everyone I know having a baby. My friends all loved them too! Buy at least two, one for use and one for the wash.

My daughter, from day one, wiggled out of every swaddle too.  She, all 7lbs of her, would move all around her crib.  It was crazy and I didn't think new borns could do that.  Nothing worked for us except the miracle blanket.  I would have gone through a lot less stress if I had know about it from day one.  Here is the link...

It is worth the price!!!!!  :)
