Using Rental Carseat and Hotel Crib......
« on: July 24, 2007, 01:02:58 am »
hey everyone! I hope this is okay to post here, as I'm trying to find other mom's who have had experience with this sort of thing.

in September, we are flying to Texas (from Utah) for a wedding and we are taking my (by then) 9 1/2 month old daughter. we are paying extra for a carseat at the rental car place, and we are using a roll-away crib at the hotel (Fairfield by Marriott). I heard some horror stories tonite about both things, so now am a little nervous.

what have your experiences been like? thanks in advance,

Never rented a carseat, but we've stayed at a bunch of places where we've rented cribs.  Some places rent pack and plays (which has actually always worked well for us -- we bring our own sheets from our pack and play at home so she's used to their smell and feel) and some have rented actual cribs.  Katie has never seemed to be comfortable in the cribs, she doesn't seem to care for the mattresses -- the cribs we've rented have been of the vinyl-crinkly type and she hasn't slept well on them at all.  Just FYI, you can check a carseat for free when you fly with a baby on most major airlines, just check their website for their particular policy.
