well we are also have early wakings!

Noah was asleep by about 7:20pm,
woke and chatted at 5:20am and may have dozed off and on until really calling for us at 6:30 or so, then stayed in crib til 7 or so.

so not sure what the day will bring, I am hopeing he dozed this morning a bit--but we will see if he is tired for an am nap at 9:45 or so.
or what time I should put him to bed tonight

slgregory
don't expect her to be very impressed about being woke up from am nap early but she should get used to it after a couple of days.  I found I just had to wake Lily very gently and be very slow about actually getting her out of cot then just cuddled her until something caught her attention and she came round fully.

Quick question.  We had a pretty successful 1nap day today, woke at 5.50am I think went back to sleep for 20/30Min's but not too sure as I certainly did  ;) and she woke me up again at 6.20, didn't take am nap so I put her back down for 1nap at 11am and she went straight to sleep, woke after 1hr but went back off for 1.5hrs, so got 2.5hrs sleep  ;D She woke up at 1.30pm, so I figured if she can easily go 4hrs after 1hr 15Min nap, that I would give her 4.5hrs and put her down at 6pm.  Its taken her 45Min's to go to sleep.
So how long should I expect her to be able to go after long 1naps, roughly?

Thanks oliverrowland, I did put her down at 12 in the end and she went to sleep by 12.30 so you were spot on.

Not sure what tonight will bring, she woke at 2.15 so not a bad 1nap sleep but because we went to a party this afternoon I didn't get her in bed till just gone 7 and its taken about 20Min's to get to sleep.  I guarantee she will do 45min wake ups for next few hours and most likely an early start tomorrow, heres hoping no middle of the night NW's  ::)

LOL Stacy.  We have to be so careful about napping when Zara does - if she gets any wind of it, she doesn't sleep  ;D

We have been having very restless mornings from her (but we haven't actually done anything about teething yet either, so tonight will do that).  She cries (in her sleep) from about 4am - some days we need to go to her, some not, sometimes more than once, sometimes just once.  Mostly waking for the day around 6:30, normal time ???.  Naps have been good, 1.5-3 hrs depending on her day.10+ hrs at night (normal for her). In fact, most naps have been 2 or more hours, today was short cause it is the weekend, and the kids next door were running and screaming about 1hr 20min into her nap, and yep, she got up to look out the window and see if she could get their attention! ::)

Insomnia? Tell me about it. Last night was my 'night off' i.e. DH deals with all NW and wake up and I get a lie in, but I was awake about every 45 mins and sometimes awake for 10-15 mins at a time  :-\  Something to do with this great big lump I am carrying around with me!

Insomnia?!  Oh ya...here too!  I thought maybe it was just me.  I hate it.  Maybe it is a Mom thing - always on alert.

Sorry about the fan Stacy!  Hope the coffee helped  ;)

Hey girls! I need some of your wonderful advice....

Isabella was doing well on 20 min am cat nap in the car or her buggy and then a 1.75hr pm nap which I woke her from. She started being able to go to bed a touch later and waking a bit later also. HOWEVER, the A time between cat nap and pm nap was getting longer and longer (it stretch loads in just a week) and then yesterday it got silly!

She woke at 7.20 (amazing!), nap 1 at 11-11.20, but she wouldn't go down at all for nap 2. I tried at 1.30 and kept trying until 3pm at which point we went out in the car and got a 30 min nap. She was asleep for the night at 6.40 and then woke for the day today at 7am (nice surprise!).

Today we decided to follow cues and maybe try 1 nap. No signs of tiredness at all!! Well, there was an eye rub at 11.30, but I was just dishing up lunch, so thought excellent, she will go down after her lunch. Nope!! Must have got her 2nd wind. Not tired at all, cried when I tried to put her down. Tried again at 12.45 and she moaned a bit, but just mantra - she then slept 2.25 hrs! She was the asleep for the night at 7.20pm.

Is anyone still awake??!!

Anyway, my concerns is that 6hr A time is way too much, but why is she just not acting tired anymore? Not so long ago she was ready (and I mean obviously ready) for nap 1 at 2.5hrs, how has this happened? She started walking last week, could it be something to do with that? She certainly stopped acting so tired around this time. She just wants to play in the garden all the time (garden is one of her very few words and she says it alot when I take her up for a nap).

I really have gone on haven't I??!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Stacy - Sorry about the short nap, I hope you have managed to get an early night. As Rina said, whenever I need a nap during Isabella's nap, she will wake early for some reason :(

I hate getting poor sleep, I am a major grumpy bitch if I'm tired  >:(

I tried to get a nap in the afternoon after our restful long weekend last week, the phone rang 3 times then the window cleaner rang the bell and woke both me and Lily up  ::)

Glad to hear I'm not the only one not sleeping...although I don't wish it on you gals!  :-*

Isabella's Mummy - We are in almost the same place as you, but haven't made it to 1 nap yet  ::)  (I think we're in competition with Stacy/Kaleb for the longest transition...we're on month 7!)

I have found stretching the A time after a 20 min am nap to 2.75h works for us for now.  The problem is we're running out of hours in the day.  I think when this stops working we'll have to go to a 10 or 15 min am nap and hopefully get to 1 nap sometime before he turns 2, lol.

Anyone know how long A time to offer after 10-15 min nap?

We're going to a cottage with the kids next week so I'm sure that will mess up his sleep anyway.

Isabella's Mummy - why not leave her for one long nap at 11am, if you know she will fall asleep easily then? You might need to do an early bedtime tho..
