Thanks for the clarification Deb!  That makes sense, because when we had Ebby allergy tested she wasn't allergic to anything.  So, all of her GI issues were just intolerances.  She's outgrown a lot of it.  With Meghan, I'm being a lot more proactive and giving her yogurt and acidophilus.  She just finished a round of antibiotics for an ear infection and she is doing so much better GI-wise than E did with antibiotics.  Yay!

We were prescribed it once by pead. when my lo had diaree called Reuteri (here in South Africa)-apparently the reuteri priobiotic is the strain proven to reduce colic.  It works like magic-settling her little tum.  I use it (5 drops per day) when she is teething and has those horrible nappies.  By morning her tum is usually settled

I'll vouch for the Reuteri probiotic taking care of colic.  My LOs colic was gone in 4 days!  The BioGaia (the brand name I used here in Canada) was a godsend!  DS is now 6 months old and is still on the probiotic.

That is great to know about the BioGaia probiotics.  I was giving them to my son for about 1 week and since he was having so much gas and stomach issues, I stopped.  I am going to start again though.

I am glad they work.  I posted a link under Reflux, Colic forum about Probiotics.  It has a lot of links I found that shows the studies that have been done.  Also they are calling it "The Cure for Colic".

If interested here is the link to the post:

Well darn I can seem to add the link.  It is under Reflux, Colic and titled:

Probiotics, The cure for colic, Research I have done.  VERY INTERESTING
