Yep, your LO has his days and nights backwards. 4 months is the usual time that kids go to a 4 hour EASY, where they eat every 4 hours. On average 4 month olds do 5-6 hours of day time sleep and then do about 12 at night. The key to getting your baby on a regular day routine is to keep him up more during the day. Below is a typical routine for a 4 month old...
8 - wake/BF
10-12 nap (this nap may be slightly earlier since some kids have a hard time staying awake for 2 full hours at the beginning of the day.)
12 - eat
2-4 - nap
4 - eat
530 - cat nap for about 30-40 min
6 or 615 wake/eat
730 bath
8 - eat/bed
10 - dreamfeed (feeding them while they are still sleeping)
There are two thinks that catch my eye when looking at your day above
1. It looks like your baby snacks alot. He doesn't take a full feed, especially during the night, and is waking up later to snack at the breast.
2. It also do you nurse him to sleep?
To start getting your baby on track you want to wake him for his feeding times. Don't let him sleep past his feeds or he will be up all night hungry. Also, try to keep him up during the day, even if he is cranky. He is mad because to him that is his sleep time, but we need to reverse that. So there will be few days that pretty much stink, but it is needed to get him sleeping at night. Below is a link on how to start doing and EASY routine with a 4 month old. Hope this helps!
