Parents of short/inconsistant nappers.....
« on: August 06, 2007, 17:39:58 pm »
This should lift your spirits!!! I just checked out the "what does your toddler's day look like" and nearly everyone was getting at least a 2 hour nap and quite a few people mentioned having to wake their LOs  :o Wow could this possibly be our future???? Whenever my DD gets into some sort of consistant nap routine it all goes wrong so this is like a dangling carrot for me, just think in 6 months these nap headaches could be a distant memory..... :D

It is true (for the most part)!  My toddler is an amazing sleeper and has been since he was 4 months old which is what I keep reminding myself.  However when you are in the midst of 45 min naps and nap extensions gone wrong it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Good reminder though!  I like the dangling carrot analogy!  :)

Yep I hear you.  I have a good week of some 2hr naps and I think YES! she's got it! Then we have some days of 45 mins naps and only 1-2hr A time....and back to 3naps instead of 2.... some talk about the 2-1switch at this stage - I just wish mine would sleep for the 2!!!

Very true  ;D. If Isabella is sleeping past 1.5hrs, I have to go in there & wake her up or she will wake to start her day at 5:30 in the morning (she was done with the 2hr naps pretty much since she was 2yo). I am anxiously waiting for Jasmine to take her 1st 2hr nap. Happens here & there but not often enough!!! She was a chronic 45min napper too.

I am only finding now that we need to wake DD by a certain time for her nap. When she moved to 1 nap ntil about 22months i let her sleep for as long as she wanted which was on average 2-2.5hrs. I have also been blessed with a fantastic sleeper up until about 8months i almost always had to wake DD from her naps to eat.
