We have interconnecting rooms - we ripped out a fitted wardrobe in his room and knocked through into ours, so there's only a wardrobe door between the two rooms. It's this door I can't get as far as shutting, not the other one that leads out onto the landing :-\

It's almost like sleeping in your room.  :-\

I would try to do a sort of GW, with that door shut and try to get out of the other door.  Try to take that door out of the equasion if you can as it could lead to further problems in the long run.

You mean they need something called privacy?

You could also have the door open the first night and then close it a wee bit more every night, maybe that works ???

Hadn't thought of it like that :-\

If I use the other door, he always shouts at me for using the wrong door ;) :D

Will have to have a think to see how I can work it. Thanks :-*

Hello!

I was wondering if this:  https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=99175.0;topicseen  -- has anything to do with Charlie and his fear?  Or perhaps just her being there (its different right?).  Sounds like MIL tripping off the curb, the ambulance and that whole situation could have been terrifying to a two year old.  I am not sure of the timing of it all, but I thought I'd toss it out there!

Good Luck I hope he gets un-afraid soon!
Zoey

Caroline, could this have anything to do with your MIL being there?

This started about a week before she arrived, although you are right that it probably hasn't helped :-\

Oh this is getting worse :( :(

I'm sooooooo tired, I've been sitting on the nursery floor for the past 4 nights.

Someone tell me what to do, I can't think straight any more.

Put a mattress there. Sleep there for a few nights then slowly pull the mattress out the door (if you can)...

You GOT a mattress?

I must look pretty grim - dp has just offered to do that (sleep next to him :D). Think I might take him up on it

Maybe you should for a wee while... it will get better. Sitting next to the cot isn't a solution, is it? You can do gentle withdrawal once that is established an dhe sleeps well again...

Good luck  :-*
