Hi everyone
I feel like I'm right back at the start when I began EASY and I've been doing it for weeks
My DS is 12 weeks old and seems to ahve forgotten how to sleep!! He was really good at the 3 hr EASY and was taking a couple of good long naps a day and probably a couple of shorter ones. he would also go straight down at bedtime after a feed with no help needed. He was still waking once or twice a night but again, would go straight back down after a feed.
HOWEVER, now he has become a 45 min napper during the day. He is extremely difficlut to get to sleep at these times as well when he never used to be. I have tried to read the threads about how to overcome this. I've tried to increase his A time but I'm only one day into this and there was no difference on that day. Obviously I will persevere.
BUT, last night was the strange thing. He apppeared to go down as per normal at 7pm but 20min later he was stirrign a lot and I had to go and feed himsome more. He was then awake again at 8.30ish and I fed him to sleep again. I did the DF at 10.45 (4 oz taken, normally 6-7). he then woke at 2.30 for feed but had been very close a few times before then. Then it was 5am. I didn't feed this time but took me 50 min to get him off again. Then awake at 6.20 and I started our day early (normally 7am)!! He fights the swaddle a lot more than he ever used to as well.
He's never done the evening wakings before
He eats enough during the day. He BF at 7 and 10 and then takes two bottles of formula at 1 and 4 (8oz at each). He is a big baby (over 14 lbs).
Sorry for the length of this post but I just feel like I don't know what I'm doing anymore. All my baby friends arn't following any routine and their babies are either sleeping through or have done at some point. I've never had that!! If it wasn't for his smiles and laughs I don't know how I'd keep on going as all I seem to be doing at the moment is trying to get him to sleep! I have to admit to AP as well. Pat/shh doesn't work for him so I end up holding him and bouncing him to sleep. I do try and put him down before he's completely asleep but often he cries as soon as he is put down.
He has been put into his cot as well the last couple of nights as he's outgrown his basket (the first night was ok).
Again, I'm sorry for the length of this but hopefully someone can help
