Moving to 3.5EASY
« on: November 20, 2006, 10:41:53 am »
I am going to start moving my 15week old onto 3.5EASY (don't think he is able to go 4hours between feeds yet)

Please could someone tel me how the 3.5hour EASY routine would wake up if my LO wakes at 6.15am when dp goes to work? I am a little confused.

Do I start with 1.5hour awake times, then start increasing this to 1.75hours for morning awakes & then afternoon awakes?

Thanks
Jx

that seems to be right jodie, just had a read over it too, seems like a big jump from 1.5 A time, maybe you could allow your lo alittle more nap time? a mod might jump in and help us out here! :)

Hi Jodie,

The best thing to do is just watch your lo's cues.

If you are going to transition to the 3.5 hour easy, you can start increasing his A time by about 15 minutes and see how he goes.  You will have to watch you DS closely for the first few days while you are trying to transition to make sure that your lo does not get over tired.

Thanks Paula, I'll watch his cues, he seems to be starting to manage 1.75hours between nas sometimes. The only thing I find really difficult is getting my little boy to go longer than 3 hours between feeds!

It might be worthwhile to see if you can stretch his feedings by about 5-10 minutes every few days to help your lo adjust.

Thanks. Will increasing the time between his day time feeds help him go longer at night?

I just worry that by increasing the time, he will have fewer feeds & so take less throughout the day. Or does it not work like that?

When they increase the time that they are taking feeds it does mean that they take fewer bottles, but they will once settled into the routine end up taking more in each bottle.

Let us know how you get on.
