Just another thought. Although he is used to being rocked to go to sleep, perhaps getting him out of the cot and sitting with him is just too stimulating. This might add to the difficulty going to sleep. Perhaps he might be better if you leave him in the cot and just pat the mattress to encourage him to lie down and stay with him right by the cot instead of getting him out and sitting with him.

It's mid day here right now! I will try again tonight. I want to be able to compare and see some growth.  It's gotta get better than this!

I was completely ready to try another night but his runny nose turned into a horrible chest infection.  Going to try again for sure.  I will be back looking for your tips when he is feeling better. So thankful for my Pediatrian appointment tomorrow!

Oh no, sending healthy vibes. It's definitely best to hold off sleep training when LOs are not feeling right.
