My 5 yr. old and 2 yr. old sleep together in the same room. My younger daughter sleeps in the trundle of big sister's bed. We thought it would be a good way to transition younger dd into a bed....once we purchase a new bedroom set for her. Anyway, every night, after we've done the bedtime routine, younger dd pops out of the trundle over and over again. We bring her back and take her lovey away until she lies down and gets back under the covers. I'm at wits end because it isn't working. I really don't feel like reducing her to tears by taking away her lovey and not giving it back....what else can I do? Put a gate up at the door? It's driving me crazy. I spend nearly 45 mins. bringing her back to bed until she finally stays in there.
On another note, younger dd also leaves her bed at night and climbs into our bed after dh and I are asleep. She brings an armful of animals and piles them all in. She behaves like a complete bulldozer and we all end up piled on top of dh on the edge of the bed....a queen size bed. For dh and I, the sleep is lousy. How can we stop little dd from doing this without full blown tears in the middle of the night? She says she likes sleeping with us....we wouldn't mind sleeping with her if she weren't such a bed hog!
