Well Welcome! I don't have any news to report here. Still trying to get the CN---some days I succeed, most I don't. When she doesn't get it, she goes to bed early. Lately though she isn't falling asleep in her crib but is quiet until her 'usual' bedtime. Then she falls asleep without incident. So weird. Can't wait for the CN to disappear!!!

Thanks!! I'm reading through all the posts and am finding so many similarities...except my DS is yet to STTN :-[ (Still wakes to eat at around 11pm and then 3am. I gave up on the DF b/c it didn't change anything - I would do it at 10 or 10:30 and he would be up at 1am)

He has been sporadically refusing his CN, but I haven't tried putting him to bed earlier (which seems an obvious next move now that I'm reading it :o!!

Hi girls,

i haven't read through the whole thread as sleep deprivation doesn't allow that much energy!! (nearly 6m and only had 4 incidences of sleeping thru after DF) but i wanted to add what i hope will be  alittle bit of encouragement that at around 20 weeks we dropped the CN without issue... by extending A times agian. she seemed to take another huge leap and is now doing 2h 45 A time before i put her down then 5-10mins to settle to sleep. some days are inconsistent tho however, so she'll seem v tired after 2h20-30ish, but on the whole she's managing longer times then giving me 1.5-2h sleeps. life is SO much easier without CN! do you think ur LO's are ready for increases? i have had to keep the end of those A times V low key but it is making our days easier.

sorry if someone else has said same thing but i haven't read it properly. i have to say in general i am SO looking forward to moving towards more set nap times and not spending my life calculating A times!!

: )) xx

I have to say that I don't think my DS will ever settle himself to sleep from wide awake! I leave him to himself and he get progressively more awake and louder and louder and then really stats crying.

I tried to put him to bed early because he skipped his CN. He BF and fell asleep while doing so, then when I put him in his crib he woke up and was like a wild child for over 30 minutes. Rolling and screaming (not crying) and flinging his lovey around, and then he started crying. He wouldn't even settle when I picked him up so I finally gave in a put him back on my breast and he fell asleep!

Maybe he wasn't tired enough, but his last A time was about 3h15min when he fell asleep the FIRST time.

Hey All4Love---do you think it was OT? I'm sure you've been asked this a million times but what is your WD routine? do you have a good bedtime routine? that seemed to help us.

Anna: my A times are going backwards. Not sure what is happening. She seems to want to crash at 2 h for the first nap and 2.5 for the second where she was going 2.5-2.75. I just don't get it. I've posted another post on this in the EASY forum so maybe someone will see something I don't. Nice to meet you both!

hey Meg,

Could it be a growth spurt? there is a major one at 6mo i think? Alexa often seems more tired when having a GS (tho that would only last a few days i guess?) its weird cos when Alexa seems to have extra tired days and like u say, can only do around 2h20ish, i am so puzzled, so its still not consistent. but then maybe they get tired more for no other reason thn they just are??! (iykwim?). i think my DP thinks i am a bit mad, when i get stressed about it and say "she cant be going backwards!" he thinks i am looking at her like a robot that should do exact same times every A time, but thats how its worked before isn't it??!

one of my fears is that when she has a more tired day and i try and keep her going for longer and we tip over into OT i then have to resort to AP'ing which is a danger i guess! I cant listen to her cry for a minute so when i know its not mantra i'm right in there, and sometimes have to go back to swaddling her arms or BFing to sleep...

All4Love have u tried swaddling maybe just one arm? i know when Alexa is OT or OS hr arms get so jerky they really stop her falling to sleep. and as Meg said... WD is crucial for us...

: ) xx

Hey, Meg, my LO did the same thing for about a week, then went back to the regular program. No idea why.

Our WD routine is bath, BF in dark bedroom and then bed. And I was thinking OT, so I tried early bedtime yesterday when he missed his CN and WOW what a night! Up every couple of hours and the up for good at 5:30am. Which is really unheard of for this Spirited little guy. The he took 2 45min naps and 1 1 hour nap today which is also much different hen his norm.

It so hard to figure out if this was do to the early bed time or teething. He got his first tooth last Sunday, and I can almost see the one next to it.

Anna - We just FINALLY ditched the swaddle. It's been about a week that he has been w/o it. The swaddle was our hardest habit to break!

I'm thinking you might need to bump up your A time---starts out UT and then ends up OT. Can you post your day for us to look at?

I definitely think he was UT. I just gave the early bedtime a try and it backfired. His days have been so erratic yesterday. I will post a day as soon as he has two in a row that are similar!
