Okay, five hours after his last feed I lay him down for a sleep and he took the full 180ml in just under 20mins! He was completely awake and did a lovely burp afterwards before going to sleep. I hope this is a good sign of things to come. I hope these meds are going to work for him. I am trying to take each feed as it comes and hope that it continues to improve in this way.

Just when I thought things were getting better they seem to be the same. He is still only feeding when going down for a sleep or when he is asleep. He didn't feed at all last night but got me up about five times to give him a cuddle or allow him to cough/burp. It has been a week now and although he is taking in more he still isn't feeding when awake. What is a realistic time frame for the meds to start really working?

I don't have any experience with the Gaviscon, but I am going to ask the Mod to move this post over to the reflux board to help you!! So sorry you are going through this, we are here for you!

I thought I had better post an update for anyone who has been reading this thread. My DS is now 6 months old and after seeing six doctors we have finally got a diagnosis of silent reflux and the correct level of medication (20mg of Losec per day). My DS is now feeding easily and is on a four hour EASY routine. He has started solids but we have introduced them by Baby Led Weaning. He has taken well to oat biscuits (Nairns), cucumber, brocolli and carrot. It is amazing how different everything is now compared to a few months ago.  ;D

I just read the entire thread!  Wow, Sharon, I admire your determination!  Mom's always know when something isn't right!

I am so glad to hear that baby is feeding so well and that you finally got that diagnosis!
