For me the only thing that worked well was sneaking into Z's room and 'helping him' I would be in his room for 20-40mins though sometimes and you having 2 LOs may find that pretty tiring! Def give W2S a go...I had to toy with the timing a bit, and if I accidently woke Z I would APOP like crazy to get him back to sleep

I am only really with him on weekends now....so it's up to my mom and DH during the days. OF course THIS weekend we are going away so that will throw a wrench into things as well!

Also, we actually weaned him from the swaddle awhile back and he took a couple of weeks to work through that but he has been fine since. He turns himself to his side to sleep and snuggles his lovey which is actually quite cute on our video monitor. He's also flipped himself to his tummy which he does NOT quite like but generally he is handling the movement well. Once asleep he can adjust himself and stay asleep and doesn't seem to jolt anymore.....but I will try to keep a better watch on him this weekend.

NEXT week I have off work Thurs/Fri and the weekend so that is 4 days to see if I can make any positive changes in his sleep!

Awww cute...Z does this too and I 'LOVE' looking at him to it too :)
Well at least if he is not waking with the jolts W2S may work quite well. Let me know how you get on. :-*

It is soo hard when they short nap. I really do think a lot of it is developmental though and you are nearly at that 6 month age where most LOs extend on their own.

Okay, so I don't know how or why but I put DS up for his first nap today....patted his back on the way up the stairs and into his room, sang twinkle twinkle and then laid him down on his side and walked out. I figured I'd have to go in and out a ton to help him drift off but he just made some babbling noises, hugged his lovey and drifted to sleep by himself!!!

So somehow I got the right A time I guess???? (JUST shy of 2.5 hours) Now let's see the length of nap we get. I don't know if I should try any w2s or just see what naturally happens since the going to sleep part was so unusual for me, what with not having to lean over and pat and pat and shhhh and shhhh and pat for ages.

I would leave him today and then tomorrow do the same thing. If he short naps today then you can try W2S tomorrow. Great work mumma!!!! xx

It was an hour long nap. Not great but not horrible either. Then of course we had to go take him for an ultrasound midday which would have been time for a 2nd nap....he snoozed on the way there and the way home and was quite pleasant while we were there and continues to be pleasant now. I am putting him up around 5 for a hopeful catnap. We shall see.

Well an hour is okay, maybe stick with it tomorrow again and if you get an hour again try an extra 5 mins? For us 1hr are usually UT...what do you think?

I keep getting hour naps so will try to extend a bit this week. Some are shorter though I think they are just the result of OT build up a the day goes on

You know.....I don't know why I hadn't thought of this myself! I am thinking you might be right. He may want a longer first and then shorter the rest of the day. I'll try playing around with it.

Good luck :) Z used to like a long middle A when he was about 6-8months (strange boy)....it took me AGES to work it out, and we had the best 2months EASY ever once I did. :)
