Won't Drink Anything But Formula + Waking
« on: June 19, 2007, 10:30:28 am »
My almost one year old won't drink anything but formula. We tried juice, rice milk, water and he refuses it all and just screams. We live in a very hot and dry climate and he definitely needs to be hydrated. He also wakes up from his naps early for a drink and he started early morning waking for a drink too! (although usually I can get him back to sleep). I don't think he needs to be drinking as much formula as he does need to be drinking something. Really the early morning wakings are getting hard for me too as I am due in August and everything just seems to be getting harder. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Anna

I personally dont see any wrong with drinking formula, but I can be wrong :-\
Maybe ladies on bottle feeding know better.
As fas as early waking are you sure he wakes for it? Maybe something in his routine needs tweaking?

How does he do with solids? Is he a good eater? How much formula dues he drink per day?

I would just continue to at least offer the sippy of water or what not so that he at least gets the opportunity to try every day or a few times a day.  Mine didn't really start drinking much else until she turned one and then she took about a month to really start to like whole milk and also at around 12 months began to really like water mixed with sugar free juice.

Here are a few links you may want to check out to help you with those early morning wakings
