Ok I am getting closer to trying it. The question I have for today is that for 2 naps today she actually woke with paci in her mouth and could not go back to sleep.  all 3 naps today were 25 min so I put her down to bed at 6:00 instead of 6:30.  What do you think? She is getting almost 13 hours in night sleep and 1.5 in day.  I think I read somewhere that this is average????  Is she getting too much at night and therefore does not need day.  She really is hapy baby sleep or no sleep.  Thank you for all your help Brenda

here is a guide for how much sleep they need (all LOs are different though)

i think she is very low on sleep for her age.  but if she's sleeping well at night and happy during the day i wouldn't mess with it too much.

Ok we are having a better morning.  I put her down after only 1 hr of A. basically I BF her she played quietly in crib then gave her some cereal then started winddown of carrying around house for a bit then room routine and she has been asleep now for over and HOUR!!!!!!!!!!  I think she must need a very short A and not much activity as I have tried a short A before with no luck but she usually has been in her jumpy for a bit which must just be a bit much.  I will do the same tomorrow. Last night was better too.  I dreamfed her at 10:30 and she woke to eat at 2:45 and then slept til 6:40 this morning.  She has also been eating cereal 2x a day which may be helping. Thank you so much for your support

 ;D ;D ;D

yes, WHAT you do during A time is just as important as LENGTH of A time!!  if they're too stimulated they won't settle well and will wake early...

hope it continues for you!

Ok it looks like I 've found the key for the first nap.  Only 1- 1:15 hour of A and not much stimulus.  Now onto the 2nd and 3rd naps.  yesterday both were 45 min.  We kept the activity very mild yesterday even with the 5 year old home.  I will try to get her down a bit earlier and see what happens. Only one wake for food last night after dreamfeed.  No wakings for settling/paci!!!!!! She is also eating cereal 2 x a day now so this might be helping too.

yay!  ;D

if she has a good first nap she should be able to tolerate a longer A time.  my DD's first A time was the shortest until recently.

45 min naps can mean UT so you may actually want to try to keep her up a little longer after a good nap to get her tired enough to take another long nap.  kwim?

1.5 hours A time is low for that age, but if it works for her great!  good for you for figuring it out!
