hi becky,

sorry yes i had confused myself writing on here, but have it written down correctly. there was a grey area between 5.30-5.45 where i actually think i heard her jolt in light sleep at 5.30 but she made her awake noises from 5.45 so i counted her as awake from 5.45 until nap when she actually fell asleep (eyes shut) at 8.10 so that first A was 2h25 so yes i was totally wrong in 2h10!

yesterday went:

Awake: 5.45
A: 5.45-8.10 (2h25)
S: 8.10-10.00 (1h50)
A: 10.00-12.30 (2h30)
S: 12.30-1.10 (40)
A: 1.10-3.30 (2h20)
S: 3.30-4.10 (40)
A: 4.10- 6.30 (asleep) (2h20)
DF: 10.30
No night wkings and no 9pm wake up.
up at 7.15!!

i think the 9pm wakings are def comfort rather than feeding as she takes a full 7oz bottle at BT and only has these wakings when she's had a bad nap day. i really think that last CN is the most important for her to keeping her going til BT as even on a bad middle nap yest she coped ok, tho she was exhausted and rubbing her eyes, so i certainly wouldnt want bad middle naps to become a habit.

so do u think something like 2h35-40 would probably be best A for her following a good nap? how much do you think it needs reducing by after a short nap? should the A be shortened by more if it is following an OT nap than if it follows an UT nap?

thanks again and sorry for the confusion!

No worries!

2h40 seems to be her sweet spot.  If she short naps -- don't care the reason -- then I'd shorten A time by 15 minutes.  Silly babies seem to have a thing where even if they are EXHAUSTED due to a short nap, they still need a certain length of A time: shorten it too much, and they give you another UT nap! But go the full length and they'll often have an OT nap!  ::)  Just tell her she can't drive until she's 21 b/c she tortured you so as an infant.  ;)

Yes, a good CN will often help with the BT and NW problems.  The more rested they are at BT -- having a good CN and the right A time should do it -- the better they sleep at night.  Of course, missing out on daytime sleep will still cause problems.  But we'll get it unraveled, don't worry!

Sorry for not writing sooner. We went out of town for the weekend.  but i'm back now!  :-*
