cannot hide email address from public?

Okay, I have tried off and on to click the button to hide my email from public, and it has never worked, tonight I even totally changed my email to a junk one I have and back and it still would not let me change that setting...what am I doing wrong??

Yours is hidden as far as I can tell. I was worried about the same thing before but you can always see your own email even if other's can't.

It's hidden Heidi, don't worry -- I cant see it!! But, I do know what you mean....mine is also hidden, but it is visible to me.  Hiding it just means hiding it from everyone else....you can still see it on your own posts, under your avatar. But when I look, I see your "view profile" icon and your "send PM" icon.  No email.

Nor do you need to keep it a secret from yourself   I suspect that was the reasoning when the developers wrote the software, I haven't looked at the relevant code but, it's quite likely that to hide your email address from yourself would need an extra amount of coding that would be, essentially, unnecessary.
