Most discomfort is felt more at night - during the day, LO is distracted...

Those wakings shortly after bedtime are usually from overtiredness.

Hi, the night I put her to bed at 7.25pm she still woke early in the evening - what sort of bedtime would you advise in order that she's not OT? Lx

I'd go with no more than 12.5hr (asleep then, not putting down then) after she wakes for the day just til she gets caught up a bit, then you can start shifting the day so she wakes/goes to be at times that suit you a bit better.

Last night not too bad, she went to sleep at 7.45pm then woke at 10.30pm. 12.30am and 3.15am. I put her down in her cot at 7.25pm & rather than rock her to sleep I've been putting her down in her cot to try & let her settle herself. When I do that I've been staying in the room & just patting her now & then to re-assure her. Is that ok or should I be leaving the room & going in & out until she settles? L x

I think what you're doing to help her settle is fine - it what we'd be recommending anyway ;)
Going in and out to reassure is really only appropriate if LO has been a good solid independent sleeper for some time.

Sounds like a better night, hopefully you can get rid of a few more wakings by getting her a bit more rested.
