Oh I think that's what I did, 2.5 hours after she woke at 10:35 I popped her down again (1:05 pm). Errgh this is tricky. I've been logging for nearly two weeks and it looks like she can still only go 4.5 hours A time, if I want to miss the OT restlessness. Now I just need to work on optimum time for the naps.

GW nearly done, except for the last tricky bit, out the door! We had a problem with dummies being thrown for a while, but I found one of those comforter toys with knots in the corners, tied a few dummies under the knots, and now she seems to want to hang on to them. A minor victory!!

Thanks for all your help, you guys are brilliant, I had no idea such support would be out there for me xxx

Honey, it sounds like you're doing so so well. I am sorry about my absence I am currently bed ridden with flu and  my head can't take the screen. I will be back when better.

(Hugs)

Just a quick post to close this down, for anyone following and searching for info.

I am so pleased that we now have a pretty great little sleeper, especially compared to how it was. She falls asleep within 10 minutes, usually, of going to bed, often quicker. Also re settles very well with a quick few words whispered through the door.

Mostly, I believe this is down to the gradual withdrawal process; it was long, and hard, but so worth it.

With regard to the over tiredness, while I think she was ready to move to one nap a day, I don't think she was ready to have that around midday, as she is clearly tired about 10am.

I have found that if I let her sleep between 10-10.30 for as long as she likes, we get some great 2-3 hour naps, much better than the 1.5 max I would mostly get if I waited until 12. And then I just move her bedtime earlier, depending on how early she goes down/wakes up from that one snooze a day. Catnaps just never seemed to work for us strangely.

I have found she throws less tantrums, and is not as easily frustrated now I have all this under control. I thought these were just part of her personality - it's amazing what some decent sleep can fix. For now anyway!!

If I could do back flips I definitely would right now! High 5 to you Mama and your clever little Darling. So so pleased for you! and yes, it is astounding what good sleep does to a child's personality. My own Mam just informed me she wishes Sam was a 'normal' child instead of all these complicated sleep rules. I think she is referring to me as not being normal. So she has him all day and night today. I may suggest she keeps him for a week, does whatever she wants with his sleep and sees the consequences!  ::)

Oops had a little vent out of the blue LOL  :-X

Well done Sweetpea.x.
