However you want to handle it, but it could be that the early morning feed is perpetuating that EW. Can't say for certain of course. What if one of you went in and just lay down on the floor next to her cot? Even held her hand through the cot bars?

FX for a peaceful night, a later start and btter naps tomorrow! :-*

I'd try again, and if she won't go off in 40 mins then do a car nap.

I agree with Anna about APOPing a car nap, but in addition, are you medicating for the teething? The discomfort can be worse with pressure increasing in the head when lying down, so this might discourage sleep.

Sorry you're having a hard day x

Well she was out like a light!! Took her up 2.10 pm did the routine and her eyes were closed by the time her head hit the mattress. She made a little whimper in protest but stayed asleep! I'm kicking myself that she was basically falling asleep on me but I didn't feed her. I usually walk in her room singing twinkle twinkle for less than two minutes and that's all it took. Hope I didn't let her down and she was aware that she was being put in bed.

I suppose the main thing is she is asleep! Any thoughts on what's going on with her?? She had meds in the night and twice today.....oh she is waking up now!!

xx

Hello,

I'm posting because things are really not much better and she is getting far less sleep than ever before! So for a while now she is not having her morning nap until at least 10 am, we are delaying the first BF of the day, until at least 5.30am but usually a little later now, and trying for an afternoon cat nap of around 30 mins. She is still waking up in the night once or twice, still waking up early for the day (can be as early as 5 am) and is harder than ever to put down for naps. Don't know what is not working re this new routine but it seems like the changes have worked against us with the progress we made with sleep training. Most days we have to abandon at least one nap, meaning she only gets on per day of an hour and a half. For the one she goes down for she is crying herself to sleep and usually only falling asleep because of exhaustion. Occasionally we have had to resort to APOP for the cat nap (a car drive) because she is a zombie! She only ever gets a max 10.5 hours at night, sometimes less with the waking in the night and very EW.

My question is this...do we just go straight down to one nap now, she is 1 year old this week, or go back to our old routine in the hope she will get more sleep?!  ::)

Sometimes when going from 2-1 naps LOs get very OT and it can help to offer the odd day of two naps. The reason I hadn't mentioned this before is that this can also lead to continues EWs and as we are trying to move your WUs later I didn't know if this was a good idea. But you are there and can see your LO, if you think she needs a two-nap day you should try it and see if it helps.

So for now you're getting a 5hour a time in the morning (5am to 10am ish) and then what time are you trying the CN and BT?
