2 year old sleep regression now little sister has arrived
« on: October 28, 2014, 12:14:14 pm »
Hi there, our 2 year old was finally sleeping through and going to bed drama free until about a week ago. Her little sister arrived 2 weeks ago, a few days before Islas 2nd birthday. She loves her new sister but over the past couple of nights she's been a bit of a nightmare to get to sleep on a night time. Bedtime routines are still the same - bath, 2 books and cuddle then lights out at 7.30. She has a gro clock as a night light and knows she has to stay in bed until the sun comes up but as soon as I leave the room on a night she starts balling! It lasts for about 15 minutes and last night she had an hour up crying in the middle of the night. Any ideas to help get over this stage?x

It sounds a little bit like some separation anxiety, which would not be unusual after the arrival of a new sibling. If there is nothing else jumping out at you (teething, routine tweak needed, other development) then I'd say it's likely that. Have you seen this thread?
