well, the day went well today - nap times were inconsistent, but he was well rested....
today he took 5oz,7,5,7 just like that. He went down at 6:30 and I heard him crying at 8:00. I put the binkie in and he went right back to sleep....
I know I shouldnt "rush in" but Im afraid he'll just work himself up to a good cry if I dont.
thoughts?

Courtney how long are you leaving him to fuss before rushing in?  If you leave him he may surprise you.

You can only try it  ???

Another awful and baffling night.
elliot fed well all day.....Went down at 6:30. He was up crying at 9, 10:30, 12, 2:30, 3:30....4? 5? I loose track.
He is not hungry either....
I think Ive been trying to keep him awake for too long between naps because BW says they should go 2 hours or at least 1.75. Ive tried carrying him all over the house and singing to him towards naptime. No stimulation...but I really think its too much for him

This morning he woke at 7:20 and ate.........by 8:30 I could see how tired he was. I started to wind down, swaddled him, and placed him in his crib eyes open at 8:40. He moved around for about 1 minute or 2 and then was off to dream land. How can this be "wrong"? He is tired. I also think he is a 3.5 hour EASY baby right now. Not 4.
I cant take these nights anymore and I feel like Im failing

PS - when he cried at 10:30 last night I waited and listened, but his cries only escalated.
The other night he was doing "waaa, waaa" real weak and I didnt respond and he went to sleep...but most times it is NOT like this

I would follow yoiur LO's cues, you are in the middle of the transition stage to 4hrs. It may just take longer thant the 2 week guide to get there. Stick with 3.5hr if its easier.

yes, this is the mantra cry, all one tone.

Was he maybe too hot/cold?

Did you get anymore info about the feeds being mixed for night and day?

I am feeling a little more positive  :-\- I watched on the video monitor during the intruder and he wiggled himself back to sleep. not even a wimper. :)
For the last week he has cried during the intruder for every nap and I have been popping in the binkie............But not today and I think its because I put him down for his nap sooner........( I was worried it was becoming a prop)

I dont hear the mantra cry often.....and the time that I heard it the other night I knew instantly that this was a cry I would not respond to. ITs very different sounding

I really feel we have the feedings down....he even refuses the DF.....(actually he has been waking around 10:30 so I just do it then) He fusses at it and only takes 3 oz..doesnt seem that interested. On the times Ive tried feeding him again at 3am or 4 he does not want it.

Looking good  8)

To try an increase day feeds have you tried;

give a 5 - 10min rest in the feed?

Try and give a bit of the last bottle before the bath and remaing after?

Calum was waking at 2am & 5am at this stage (without d/f)

Have you considered the dreamfeed?

Sorry for delay in getting back to you for some reason my email notification is NOT working  >:( >:( >:(

I like the 5 - 10 minute idea, am going to try that - thank you.

I dont do a DF because he always wakes around 9:30 - 11 and when he does I feed him....so thats the "dream feed" I guess.  :(
He only stays up an hour after his catnap in the evening, so I dont give him any bottle before the bath because Im so afriad an hour later he wont be hungry for more....?
what do you think

Let me know how you get on with the 5-10min rest. It may be worth trying the bottle with him before bath, you may be surprised.

(my notifications still don't work  >:( >:()
