Hi,
I'm sure you've had this question before but my baby boy Zac sleeps for 30 mins and wakes up crying. The first time he did that, I thought he was hungry so I fed him. But he'd suck for a good 40 secons to a minute and then looked like he was going back to sleep. I have only recently started the shh/pat technique with him so instead of letting him fall asleep on the breast, I quickly put him back in his cot and shh-ed him to sleep and he'd sleep for another 30 minutes.
The next time he fed, he'd sleep for another 30 minutes, and then start crying. So, this time, I didn't feed him nor pick him up. I just tried shh-ing and patting him for a good 30 minutes, but he wouldn't settle, so I resorted to the dummy which settled him and then I shhh-ed him back to sleep...
Can someone please tell me how to break the 30 minute habit? and is it okay that he only sleeps for an hour before each feed?
HELP!!
