Kate - it stinks....I teach and was doing the whole thing while I worked and looked at it as sort of a "game" that I was going to win....I had to take a fun approach or I'd lose my mind.

Thomasmom - Congrats on the success- - WHAT did you do specifically?

No luckily I am not working at the moment, but at least your getting some sleep.  I have to admit I didn't have alot of faith in GW I thought I would be in her room for the rest of my life, but we had a good night again last night, had to go in about 3 times cos she lost her paci, but I was on my way to the loo anyway and she went straight back off.

Hi there, well we are back to square one.  Went to a fete on Saturday and she got scared by a clown and now she won't sleep again without me being in her room and waking at 4am in the morning, I guess she could be having nightmares.
So I am back to the same thing, putting her to bed, if she starts to cry I go in and lay on the bed next to her cot, when she falls asleep I leave, if she wakes up I try and console try to leave again if she crys I get back in the bed until she falls asleep again.  Only problem is my bedtime is 8pm and I don't want it to be boohoo!

Ugh. I don't care for clowns either, can't blame her! Hopefully this is a short regression and she'll be back in business in no time!

I thought we were doing pretty well, to the point where I took the air mattress out of the room, and was just sitting to read while DS fell asleep, this was working all weekeend for naps and bed, and yesterday for nap and bed, I did not have to stay (poor thing was so tired!) but last night, he woke at 1:45 (which is the latest he's woke in a while...was early like 9:30 then 11 and so on) but he absolutely insisted that I stay...pointing at the chair and saying "see" (Seat) I ended up dragging the AM back into the room and sleeping there for the rest of the night. Disaster. Sigh.

Lets try and keep each other up to date on how we are doing, it helps me to think that someone else is going through the same thing, she went down for her nap ok today but then again she did yesterday, it just seems to be the night time, just have to stick with it I guess.

Just wanted to update you on DDs sleeping, we seem to have had a breakthrough, she is mad on stickers at the moment and I have told her if she goes to sleep without me being in the room she gets a sticker in the morning, so for 2 nights she went to sleep no problem, last night I forgot to tell her about the sticker and we had the same old problem, so I went into her bedroom where she kept pointing at the bed for me to lie in there with her, so I asked her if she wanted a sticker in the morning she said yes, I said well you have to go to sleep without Mummy, she said ok and do you know she didn't sleep but she played in her cot until 11pm and didn't ask for me again once, I just thought I'd share that so maybe you can try on your LOs.  I don't mind her playing in her cot if she isn't tired as long as she isn't crying for me.
