Can anyone suggest routine for almost 8 week old pls?
« on: August 21, 2007, 17:12:20 pm »
Am working really hard on getting ds into a bit of a routine and am not sure any more what I should be aiming for. I cant really post a typical day as they change so much. He is very active in the am and can go an hour and half before a nap, then only sleeps about an hour. Lunch time is usually 2 or 2.5 hours, if it coincides with dds nap then I let him have 2.5 hours so I get a bit of a break. Our pm is difficult and we end up having 2 catnaps. I usually wake him after an hour, due a feed, back in bed after an hour and then wake again and may do another cat nap. Our bed time is prob a bit late, usually 8 ish as its difficult to co ordinate the 2 kids in the pm so they go about the same time. I would like to try and go for an 8 to 8 routine

Today he woke 6.30
S 8.20-9.20 1 hour
S 10.40-11.20 40 min
S 13-15.00 2 hours ( woke him for feed)
16.00-17.00 1 hour
18.00ish-18.30
Bed 19.45 and he was falling asleep on his bottle.

He settles himself pretty well for a sleep, but if wakes there is no resettling.
Thanks,
Fiona

The great thing about the routine is that it's flexible so that you can coincide with your babies needs (which are most important) and with what works for your family.  I am so glad to hear that they both take a nap at the same time for you. Much needed Y time, huh?!

Here are a few links that may be of some help.....
