sitting up when in crib
« on: September 09, 2007, 00:39:28 am »
My son (9 months) has learned to roll over and sit up. He now does this whenever he is placed in his crib. The problem is that he doesn't know how to get back down (either on his back or tummy). He has woken himself up in the middle of the night, sitting up in bed. Any ideas on how to teach him to get back down?

I'm sorry... I have no idea, but see the same problem coming in the next month or so with my LO. He now turns onto his tummy in his crib at night, wakes up and is very upset. During the day, he can roll back over to his back, no problem. But at night in his crib, he seems to forget how. Good luck. I'll watch this thread to see what good advice you get!

Hang in there!

The only thing I can suggest is to practise as much as you can with him during the day, try to teach him to lay back down during the day. As for the night wakings I think you will have to ride it out, these milestones are horrible for sleep.  Once he has it all figured out in the daytime, he will be able to do it in the night.
