Considering where we were a month ago with naps, I certainly shouldn't be complaning right now! I'm not really, but I have a question and I was wondering if anyone might have some insight into what is going on!
My 19 month old (1 nap schedule) will nap from anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours. He seems to usually have 2-3 days a week where he really needs the extra sleep and sleeps over the 2 hour mark. The rest of the days, he's generally happy with the hour and a half. Which is fine with me because I know he's getting the sleep he needs. However, on the days that he sleeps longer, he wakes up, coughs, cries a little (either sleepy moaning or sometimes it's an all out scream that only lasts a few seconds), and then quiets down and goes back to sleep right at the 1.5 hour mark every single time! I can tell when he wakes at the 1.5 hour mark just from what he sounds like if he's going to go back to sleep or not. If he's done with his nap, he wakes up happy, but the only time he wakes up crying is when he doesn't really wake up at all. Why is he doing this? Would w2s help in this situation or would it not even be worth the risk to try it since when he does need more sleep, he is getting it?
