How to dropp "fake" DF??
« on: November 02, 2007, 13:08:58 pm »
Two weeks ago I tried two times DF with my almost 6mo. ds. Unfortunately he woke up and since then he wakes up around 10 p.m., the latest 11 to eat. Before that he was waking around 1-2 a.m. How could I change his new habit? And of course he wakes up around 2-3 to eat again...
The other problem is that we have a lot of NW last weeks. Most of them are during first two hours of sleep and after 4 a.m.
We are on 4 EASY and problem with dropping catnap. Total naptime is around 3 hours 15 min. And ds falls asleep somewhere between 6:30 and 7 p.m.  So I think we have the problem with OT cycle and I don't know how to cut it....

He sounds hungry to me  :-\ Is he on solids yet? If yes, what kind?

What we did that age was to add oatmeal kinda thingy to the last bottle (df). So we KNEW he wasn't hungry at night. When he woke up we put pat his back until he went in, resettled him and went back out again. If he started wailing, we would repeat that, but he was nevfer in distress...

If he is in distress during the NW, I'd p/s until asleep and then leave the room...

Good luck  :)

Pauls mum - can you post your daytime routine for us so we can see if it's likely to be affecting his nights?

In terms of the 10pm wakings, I would just pat/ssh until he goes back to sleep - if a few days of this doesn't work you could try W2S?

Out of interest, why did you try a DF and then drop it again?  I wasn't sure from your post - did it make his nights worse?
