Dream feed or not to dream feed?
« on: November 06, 2007, 13:11:21 pm »
Hi my son is 8 weeks old and since he was born I would always give him his last bottle of the day around 10pm - 11pm, since being in a more structured routine he will take a full bottle at 8pm, and I would then give him a df at 10pm, he then usually sleeps until just after 5am.

The last few nights he has only been taking 1.5oz 0 2oz.

Should I continue? or should I drop it?

My advice would be to not do it one night and see if it makes a difference as to when he wakes for his next feed.  If he wakes earlier than usual, you'll know to offer the dream feed in future.

Sophie actually woke EARLIER when given a dream feed so I didn't bother with it.

Graesha dipped in her "intake" at the DF on and off during the months. I always kept it for fear that she'd wake early and I'd have to feed at 5am. At 8 weeks she started "sleeping through" until 6/630am. We are just now weaning the DF at 7months, she sleeps without a feed until at least 7am.
I say keep it!
