Can I use a vacuum CD?
« on: November 07, 2007, 14:43:48 pm »
My son loves the vacuum sound so we recorded it on a CD and it really helps calm him when he's upset before nap or bed time. We are just starting EASY so my question is can I use the vacuum CD with pat/shh or is that a prop? He sleeps really well with it on. BTW he's 3 months old.

thanks!

I don't see why you can't use it. It might be a form of 'prop' but then if it's just substituting for the 'shhh' noise and it helps him to sleep well I doubt it's really a problem. Anything is a prop if you really look at it hard enough. I remember we once had a post where someone said, 'is the cot a prop?'.

Probably the same as having a fan on in the room and both mine have always had a fan on to drown out other house noise.  With a dog, a  newborn and a toddler they need a little white noise!!!!
