Early waking
« on: November 21, 2007, 08:24:50 am »
Since the time change my lo started waking an hour earlier every day instead of 7 now 6. I tried changing this but didnt work, as she is not a great napper. Anyway this was fine i dont mind six o clock, but now for the last week she has started waking at five. This is then throwing her naps out and basically messing everything up.

I dont get her up till 6. I have tried getting her back off, but she has none of it. She is wide awake babbling in her cot.

Our routine is
E 6AM
A
S 8 - 9:30
E 10AM
A
S
11:30 - 1
e 2PM
A
S 3:30 - 4:30
A
B at 6:30

She just seemed to sort out her naps, But now this is all over the place feeds are the same but she is cat napping alot more.

Please help she will be 5 months next weekend.

Your routine actually looks great.  You may want to cut back the cat nap to 30 minutes or 45 minutes as 1 hour is a bit long and may be just a tad too much.

Does she wake up on her own after 1.5 hours for the first two naps?

Does she still eat at night?

**At around 5 months most los will start waking early...like at around 5am and play and then will eventually go back to sleep. The best thing to do is leave her.  If she isn't crying, don't go in as it will cause a habit and then she'll start waking up at 5am habitually - expecting someone to come in there with her.  It's usually just a phase and should pass, if no habit start up during that time.
