Early Wakeups have GOT to stop!
« on: December 04, 2007, 20:58:30 pm »
AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

Enfys is STILL waking up at 5 am.  I work till 5.30 3 days a week so her bedtime needs to be around 7.

This was yesterday:

woke 5.15 am & I got her up at 6 (she's cool for 45 minutes then wants to get up)
6.15 bottle
7.15 solids
8.15-9.45 nap.  She is still swaddled for naps but not at night.  She sleeps on her side with wedges, and sometimes in the morning when I go in, she's crept up and is on her back but I am pretty sure she is doing that after she wakes up.
10.30 bottle
11.45 solids
12.55-2.40 nap (I woke her)
2.45 bottle
she is on two solid meals still
5 pm - bath, bottle and bed by 5.45pm
Dream feed - 10 pm (I am weaning this as she only generally has 3 -4 ounces first thing)

When I put Enfys down, she generally falls to sleep almost immediately.  Sometimes at bedtime, it takes her 10 minutes but not much more.  She doesn't tend to wake in the night but sometimes stirs around 3.30 but gets herself back to sleep in a few minutes.  When she wakes up early, she doesn't cry hard straight away but plays with her lovey and throws it around the cot!  She is happy when I go get her.

Today, well, I had to work, and didn't get home till 6.  Even though she's been up since 5, I didn't get her down for the night until almost 7.  She slept for 2 hours in the morning, an hour in the afternoon (she often has only an hour in the afternoon when I'm working) and another 45 minutes around 4.45.  So she had a 14 hour day!

I have done wake to sleep at 4 am before, and she tends to wake then at 4.45 which doesn't really help.

I have considered just setting her bed time for 7 pm and doing whatever I can to get her there.  Is that a silly idea?

We've just dropped her cat nap.  She was waking around 5.30 then, and going to bed around 7.  And still waking at 5-5.30.  My DH gets up at 5.30 am and I think this is where this has started.

???

I think I understand what you mean, move the day ahead gradually to make bedtime later so hopefully she'll sleep longer in the morning?
I honestly have tried it, but so far doesn't seem to have helped much.
