6.5 mo old hates bath time
« on: January 04, 2008, 17:24:08 pm »
My dd can't stand being in the tub.  She starts crying when her feet hit the water and then stops right when we dry her off.  I don't think she's overtired because she's on a steady 4 hour easy and generally takes great naps and sleeps well at night.  I tried moving bathtime to the morning activity time because that's when she's the most excited to play, but it hasn't changed anything.

We try to get the water the ideal temperature and to keep it warm in the bathroom, but again, it doesn't change anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Laurie

Hmmmm... have you tried bubbles, some new 6m old bath toys, getting in with her, if she is able to sit upright perhaps do her bath in the kitchen sink (I advise doing this with a bath ring as they are SO slippery).

Owen went through a period where he hated the bath too, I think around the same age.  I switch to giving him a bath in the tub with him in a bath ring, and also me in the tub too and that seemed to help.

HTH, good luck!  Remember, this too shall pass ;)
