Different wakeup time every day
« on: January 08, 2008, 12:09:31 pm »
Hi I'm back!
Well, I think the NW have been sorted out a bit, she's been sleeping better at night thank God.  The only thing is, she never wakes at the same time each morning.  She will wake any time between 6 or 8, regardless of when I put her down the night before.  I never get a chance to organize my day, because each day is different.  I try to build her 4 hr schedule from the point she wakes, but she'll never wake at the same time the next day.  - she tends to wake around an hr earlier, so her "start" time gets earlier and earlier.  What should I do?

What time would you like her to wake up?

If you pick 7am...wake her up by 7am if she isn't up already and if she wakes up earlier you just adjust from there.  That way you have more of a chance of getting a similar pattern going through out the day.  30 minutes give or take isn't a big deal, but 2 hours is a much bigger difference, iykwim.

I'd like her to wake between 7:30 and 8, and since we put her to bed at 8:30 last night, 6:40 was def. an EW.  She will stay in her crib playing for more than an hour.  Sometimes (very rarely) she'll go back to sleep, but most times, she'll still be awake the time her wake time rolls around, and then her schedule is totally off.  Today I had to give her her first nap early, as she had already been up 2 hrs, so by the time she woke up, 4 hrs had not passed between feeds.  I fed her anyway, and are back on track with EASY, only it's earlier than yesterday.

BTW, her naps are alwasy solid (two 2 hr naps and a 45 min. catnap) and we always have to wake her from her naps.  Does thsi mean anything?   DD is 4 mths old.

Thanks so much for any advice!
