Not Sleeping

Hi,

My DD just turned 2 last week. She was up in the night sick on Monday and caught up with a long day nap on Tuesday, since then she has been a nightmare with both day and night sleep. Yesterday she didn't sleep during the day, I put her to bed early at night and she protested for 1.5 hours before she fell asleep and then today she didn't sleep again and was too tired to fight it when I put her to bed at 6pm tonight. She is getting really upset when I try to put her in her cot, we normally sit on a chair having a quiet cuddle before I put her down - in the past it's been so easy and now she keeps saying no mummy chair and crying, she grips onto me so hard and just wants me to sit in the chair with her and doesn't want me to put her down.  Today for her day sleep she kicked up the same fuss when I put her down and basically went between chatting to herself and crying out for me for 1.5 hours, I was waiting to see if she would give up and just fall asleep but it didn't happen.  I wonder if it's anything to do with a stage/her being sick (even though it was brief) or maybe her dad being back at work this week after 2 weeks holiday. I guess I'm looking for some light at the end of the tunnel, this may sound selfish but I'm due with baby no 2 in a few months and I find this stressful....

Do you think shes still a little poorly? although it was just a brief illness it could be shes just not feeling 100% at the mo.Added to the fact Daddy has just gone back to work she probably feels a little unsettled.

I would put her down at the times you normally do maybe do a slightly longer windown and give plenty of cuddles etc during the day.

Sasha will be clingy too when shes just got over illness and it takes a while for her to catch up on sleep.
