is this normal for feeds?
« on: January 28, 2008, 14:22:48 pm »
ok, I should probably post this at the end of the day. Chaunda has no problem drinking an almost 6oz bottle at 11:30pm and I think a 4oz bottle at 4:30am. Depending on what time she eats at night, I do sometimes hold her off..for example, the night before she didn't wake to eat until 3am, but when she woke at 6am...I didn't feed her.

But lately, she doesn't want to eat in the morning. This morning she didn't want to eat until almost 9am. I couldn't get her to go to sleep, but did finally get a 20 minute nap in the swing. This is without her fruits and cereal. Although she willingly eat the fruits and cereal after many attempts to feed her at 9am. She only drank about 2oz.

She will drink very little between 2 and 3oz the first couple of feeds during the day. As the goes on, she might start drinking more during her feeds or might not go as long between feeds. Than she'll cluster feed in the early evening. She'll sometimes have a decent size bottle, supper of rice cereal and some veggies and than not that long after supper have another decent size bottle. This will all be in a relatively short period of time - like 2 hours. If she doesnt' want this bottle after supper...its very SHORTLY afterwards like right before bed.

Does this sound normal at all?

She'll be 6 months old February 13th.

All of my kids eat a lot more in the evening than in the morning too.  If you're interested in weaning that middle of the night feed, which will probably up the first morning feed a bit, you could try cutting it back ounce by ounce or watering it down ounce by ounce.
