Nestle Alsoy -Canada
« on: January 29, 2008, 17:23:57 pm »
hi

Does anyone use this? My Dr recommend that we switch dd to alsoy as of yesterday and the smell is terrible? Its smells like rotten veggies, anyone else experience this?
As well how long does it take for a new formula to take effect?

Hi there, no experience of that particular formula, but the soy in uk stinks too, and makes the poo even stinkier!  It usually takes around 1-3 weeks to see a 100% difference.

Also, is your lo milk intolerant. Is that why there is a change of formula? If so, just a little word of warning that quite a few milk intolerant babies are ALSO soy intolerant. So if there is no improvement full stop after a week I would ask for a hypo allergenic one xx

i agree with pp. You should start to see small changes at least by end of week 1 although it can take upto 2 weeks in some cases. It may take longer for all symptoms to subside.

I think the hypo allergenic formulas smell worse than soy formulas and elemental ones are even worse. The smell is worth it though if it helps your lo.

Ohhh Alsoy smells horrible, but all soy formulas do and just as Jimbob said Hypo is even worse! My lo won't even take a sip of hypo formula, but laps up the soy just fine!

I agree, you'll get use to the smell very quickly! It helped my Oliver within about a week -- we noticed some good changes. I hope it works for you. :)
