Hey, thanks for the comments, ladies.
Yes, we are BFing, so I have no idea how much he's actually getting during the day. We have only barely begun solids. I gave him rice cereal mixed w/ BM 2 nights ago and it took him 24 hours to poop (he usually goes 3 times a day), so I'm not sure if he is really ready. And of course it didn't improve the sleep. Not that I really expected it to.
I am really resistant to 4 feedings a day just because of the EBF thing, I don't want my supply to suffer. A friend of mine had her milk dry up when trying to schedule her baby and I don't want it to happen to me, at least not yet, while he still needs it so much!
I didn't mention it, but we do the dreamfeed too, usually around 11:30.
I guess I should try the earlier bedtime. Really I would prefer getting up at 8 and going down at 8. He just started waking up for the day at 7 pretty consistently around 2 months old, so I went with it. Last night, though, he didn't wake up in the middle of the night. He woke up at 5:45, and acting really hungry, so I feed him a good long feeding. He fell back asleep right away and slept until 8, and I fed him again then. So maybe I can transition him to an 8 to 8 schedule this week? I don't mind giving feedings around 6 for a few weeks to make this happen if necessary.
I want the later bedtime because DH usually gets home from work around 6:30 and likes to sleep until 8 in the morning. If LO and do a 7 to 7 schedule, he will never see his daddy.
